Troubleshooting

A few quads need a touch-up

See The result: Select them and relax them. If it happens again and again in one place:

Where Why Try
Ear rims, fingertips, eyelids The part is thinner than a quad. Raise Quads, or paint it Denser and Remesh.
Between fingers, at the lips Two surfaces closer than a quad. Join Touching, or more quads.
A nostril, an ear canal A pocket narrower than a quad. Paint it Denser.
A hole somewhere An unlucky count. 1 % more or fewer Quads.

The flow is not where I want it

Draw a loop where the flow should go and Remesh. For one area only, select its faces in Edit Mode and Remesh Selected Faces.

"Your patches were not used"

With Fill Between on, the patches between your lines came out folded or pinched, so the remesh gave you a clean mesh that your lines only steer. The places are marked red. Most often:

At the red mark Try
Two lines close together Join them or move one away; the too close rings and Part in the panel help.
A corner far from square (a thin wedge, a patch bent nearly flat) Move a corner, or add a line that cuts the patch into squarer ones.
A deep fold inside a patch (the crease between the lips, a nostril) Move the line so the patch stays on one side of the fold.
A loop round a mouth or nostril whose mesh goes on inward Draw a thin loop where the surface turns inward and mark it as an opening.

Then Remesh again. Before that, the sketch shows where rows bunch or cross. More on the messages: Remesh and read the result.

With guides, a region came out coarse or flat

A region much bigger than its outline gets too few quads to follow the surface (the back of a head inside one face loop). Keep Fill Open Regions on, so it is remeshed at the asked size, or draw lines across it for patches there.

It takes long

The time grows with the number of quads and with the size of the mesh. A head at a few thousand quads takes seconds; a full body at 5000 can take a minute or two; a dense sculpt of 1.6 million faces at 2000 quads, about half a minute. A remesh with guides that falls back ("your patches were not used") takes longer, as it remeshes more than once: fixing the red places saves that time too. Blender stays usable meanwhile; Cancel or Esc stops it at once. A run stops by itself at the Time Limit.

The engine "cannot be opened" (macOS)

Open System Settings > Privacy & Security and press Open Anyway next to the message, then Remesh again.

Reporting a problem

Press Report a Problem in the Help section of the panel: it saves the report, opens its folder and starts a mail to support, where you attach the zip. Or press the export icon next to the result line (Save Report) to save it where you choose. It writes a zip with the last run's log, its settings and your Blender and system versions. Your mesh is included only when you tick Include Mesh and Guides. Attach it to your message.
